Youth Group
Our youth Group is open to anyone in grades 6 through 12, both church members and non-members alike. We meet on most Sundays 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. On the second Sunday of the month, we have our After Dark Meeting in the evening 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Youth Service Activities
The youth at Walnut Creek UMC are active and engaged in their community. They’re seeking to develop meaningful relationships with God and each other. One of most popular activities is the week-long Sierra Service Project (SSP) mission trip we go on each summer. The youth do home repairs in underserved communities, and worship and learn with youth groups from all over the country.
During the school year we do youth overnights at the church, and participate in worship services. We also do a few field trips away outside of the church, including visiting an urban farm in Alameda.
We regularly enjoy making meals and eating together. We welcome everyone, regardless of church experience, belief system, race, class, ability level, gender, or sexual orientation. If you’re in grades 6-12 (or between the ages of 11 and 18) and want to build relationships, grow in spirituality, and/or learn how to be in better service to your community, we’d love for you to join us!
